Why does Sade feel guilty

Sade feels bad about hiding the truth when she is in London because her father and mother always told her that she should tell the truth.Evidence of this is when Sade remembers her mother saying "Truth keeps the hand cleaner then soap" (P74). Sade feels guilty because she is not obeying what her parents told her was right. What Sade mother is saying is that nothing is better then telling the truth. This is why Sade feels guilty because her parents told her to always tell the truth.
