They wandered through the gloomy mysterious forest, in search of a habitable site, suited to their needs. The sound of babbling brooks and crawling creatures trailed them as they journeyed through. Craving water they all pull out their canteens, but soon became disappointed. Carrying heavy packs, they all arched over like the hunchback of Notredamn hiding in the darkness. Their whines continued on:
“I’m hungry, can we eat yet?”
“I’m thirsty, do you have anymore water?”
“Can we stop for a rest, I’m tired?”
All to which, the reply was “NO! Stop whining!” and each lowered their head in shame.
All except Sam; he was an excellent boy scout. He had nearly all he badges, with only 2 to go: helping an injured animal and building a shelter out of leaves. This was his big chance to fulfil his childhood dreams. He was, expectedly, the brightest of the bunch when it came to hiking and camping. Not a single whine, sigh or once of boredom came out of his cute cherry lips. He saw every failure as an opportunity or a life lesson.

After hours and hours of walking in, what seemed to be, the wilderness secluded from all civilisations, they reached their destination, each child excited as the next. Overjoyed in their achievement, they all lied on the ground and rested; that was until they heard the fierce raw of a bear, “GET UP! You still have to make your tents before you can rest!” Which was then followed by a sigh of wearisome and repetitive boredom.
After setting up his tent, starting a fire and cooking his dinner, Sam decided to go for a walk and get in touch with nature. Feeling a bit dizzy, he relaxed his desiccated body on the tall tree trunk covered in creepy-crawlies. Then, suddenly his head started to spin and the world that once was normal turned into a giant blur. Then everything went back to normal in a click, before he knew it, Sam was standing up again completely energised and revived. So onward he walked completely refreshed and renewed from his sleepy state of mind.
He journeyed through that deep strange forest in search for his camp, but was constantly disappointed. Even though it all looked the same, if felt slightly different and bizarre, which not only confused him but intrigued him. He felt as though he had only been walking for an hour, but knew by his watch that it had been a lot longer then that, which is when he started to worry.
Scared and afraid he started to search for his camp using the skills he had been taught. Instead he became even more lost and disorientated. He ended up rested in a cave and starting a small fire to keep warm. With no food, and barely any water, it was a fight to the finish against Mother Nature.
Sam was just aloof when a strange noise awoke him from his trance. It sounded like a cat or bear, he wasn’t entirely sure. It was pitch black and the trees covered the brightness of the stars and moon. He grabbed for he torch, shinning the luminescent light to brighten his surrounds and scare of any predators. A dark flash of fur, sent chills down his spine as he backed up into the cave. With no nutrients or energy he had nothing left in him to fight or defend himself.
“HELLO, ANYONE THERE?” Sam screamed in distress hoping to scare of any dangerous creatures.
“Hello?” he tried once more with hoping for at least a familiar reply.
But, nothing… He waited there all night resting his tired body on 3 small rocks.
With snakes, bugs and dangerous animals surrounding him all night long. Constantly being awoken by the chants and hymns that filled the midnight air, he tossed and turned till dawn.
But in the morning he awoke to bacon and eggs and toasty warm fire. At first he questions himself wondering if it was a dream, pinching himself he soon came to reality.
“What? How? When?” Sam asked while walking to the fire rubbing his head in confusing but with slight relief.
“How did I get here?” he restated his original question.
“Oh, um, well we were searching all night last night and just could bear the thought of you alone all night, so we called in a search team and we found you sleeping as sound as a baby on those rocks. So we carried you back and you didn’t feel a thing…”
“Wow, really?”
“No, we didn’t actually call in a search team, I am just pulling your leg. No you were in a cave 10 metres from here and we just found u lying there snoring, so we carried you back.”
“Oh, ok. What? Anyway, what adventures are we having today?”
